| Giclee is an exciting new printmaking process used to produce fine art prints. It uses environmentally safe, vegetable based, water soluble dyes. The process works by making an ultra-high resolution scan of a 35mm original transparency and outputting it onto one of the world's most sophisticated printers, called an Iris.
It translates the digitized information into a high speed stream of microscopic color droplets - as many as twelve billion on a single print. The individual droplets are so small (about the size of a human red blood cell) that the resulting prints appear as smooth and continuous colors and tones.
The Giclee prints in our photo gallery are printed on a water color substrate, and have the appearance and feeling of a painting. Each edition will be limited to a maximum print production of 300, and are sure to become "collector" items. The prints vary slightly in size, but all have a width of approximately 22 inches. They are signed and numbered.
